WORLD STEM FEST · Schools Hub

Build a STEM day everyone can join.

Begin with a small organising team. Choose accessible activities, estimate materials and time, plan supervision and invite learners to share their process as well as their products.

A useful STEM experience includes

  1. A question or need that learners can investigate.
  2. Clear learning goals and accessible materials.
  3. A prediction, sketch or initial solution.
  4. A fair test and a record of observations.
  5. Time to improve and explain the reasoning.

Before you begin

Review materials and supervision needs for the age group. Offer alternatives for learners who need support with tools, reading or mobility. Use a simple table or sketch to make evidence visible.

Make learning visible

Ask learners what changed, what stayed the same and which evidence supports their conclusion. A result that challenges a prediction is a valuable opportunity to revise an explanation.
